Programme for senior high school students:
Workshop 1.
Full day Sampler Workshop: six hours.
Painted fabric effects; layering with the machine; painted vliesofix; practice using a heat gun & soldering iron, some introductory work in manipulating fabric.
Fast workers will come away with a small wall hanging pieced ready for quilting. Most will have prepared all the elements & will need to assemble & quilt the wall hanging at home.
Workshop 2.
Full day workshop: six hours: choice of underwater or garden scene.
Strip pieced background, free motion quilting, thread painting, some three dimensional work, using Angelina, using a heat gun. Again, fast workers will have the scene assembled, most will need to finish in their own time
For both workshops I'll be giving students the opportunity to return on another day to complete the work they have begun.
At my studio: $85 for the day including all materials used. Students provide their own lunch & bring a sewing machine which must be equipped with a darning or embroidery foot. $25 for the finishing day.
At your school: $300 for the day plus a materials fee of $20 per student doing the workshop. I would require a teacher to be present to assist as needed. If you have ten students doing the workshop then the cost would be $500: $300 plus $200 for the materials.
Dates:
At my studio:
Workshop 1: Sampler: Tuesday January 6 starting at 9.30a.m.
Workshop 2: Project; Tuesday January 13 starting at 9.30a.m.
